CENTENNIAL — Every day around 5 p.m. there is a rush. Employees at Tony’s Market near Dry Creek and Holly are thankful for it.

“Our folks are coming in and we are grateful for it. Maybe they aren’t buying T-bone steaks, but they are buying chicken,” Chef Mick Rosacci said.

“We are so fortunate in this day and age that they keep coming back and spending money here because it gives us this opportunity to expand,” said Lynnea Louison, the director of human resources for Tony’s Market.

Louison is talking about a new market and bistro Tony’s is building in dowtown Denver. It is scheduled to open sometime around late May. Tony’s will be hiring at least 70 people to work there.

Lousion knows that puts her in a unique position.

“Most people in human resources are talking to people about laying them off, and here I am I get to interview 1,000 people who are excited about a new opportunity,” Louison said.

The open positions range from customer service to department managers to janitorial positions.

The Tony’s Market job fair is Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Speer Workforce Center, 1391 N. Speer Blvd.=, Suite 500 in Denver.
