LA HABRA, Calif. — Octuplets mother Nadya Suleman says she used money from an inheritance and overtime wages from her job as a psychiatric technician to pay for her early fertilization procedures.

Suleman told celebrity magazine Life & Style Weekly she spent at least $24,000 on the in vitro fertilization procedures that led to her first four babies and a portion of a $30,000 inheritance to conceive twins and, later, the octuplets.

“Maybe it was selfish; I’m the first to admit that. Maybe putting in all the eggs was a mistake, but all I’ve ever wanted is a huge family,” she said.
