“I’ve been trying for this fish for many years in Colorado. Got Lucky,” Denver’s Fred Miller said of his mid-March visit to the Taylor River below Taylor Reservoir.
“I got the day off from the office and decided to make the long trip to the Taylor,” he said.
Miller used a twin-fly rig, a midge larvae below a mysis, to tempt the big rainbow. He landed it on a 6X tippet and 5-weight rod at about 3 p.m. after what he called “a very cold but productive morning.”
