Records fell as the hits and runs kept coming Saturday, and — eventually — CSU-Pueblo defeated Colorado Christian 32-23 in the first game of a doubleheader.
The two schools shattered the Division II record for combined home runs with 18, eclipsing the 14 hit by St. Mary’s (Texas) and Incarnate Word in 2001. The teams broke records, for all classifications, with 118 total bases (14 singles, 13 doubles, two triples and the 18 homers). Jason Fobes and Matt Wismann each hit three homers for the Thunderwolves, who totaled 11, one shy of the D-II record.
CSU-Pueblo won the nightcap 9-3.
