LINCOLN, Neb.—Jeff Tezak (TEE-zak) went 3-for-5 with four RBIs and Nebraska ended a nine-game losing streak with an 8-5 victory over Iowa on Tuesday night.
Tezak drove in a run in the first inning and hit a two-run single in the third as the Cornhuskers (17-18-1) jumped out to a 5-0 lead.
Justin Toole and Kody McManis had two hits apiece for the Hawkeyes (11-21), who lost their eighth straight.
Erik Bird (1-1), the second of five Nebraska pitchers, picked up the win and Mike Nesseth earned his second save. Iowa starter Michael Jacobs (1-5) allowed five runs on five hits in 2 1-3 innings.
