LONG BEACH, Calif. — A hospital worker shot and killed two employees and then himself Thursday at a Southern California medical center, police say.
Police say the suspect, Mario Ramirez, 50, of Alhambra died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center. Investigators say 46-year-old Hugo Bustamante of Cypress died at the scene and 56-year-old Kelly Hales of Redondo Beach was taken to the hospital’s emergency room in critical condition. Hales died several hours later.
Police say the three men worked at the hospital. Police Chief Anthony Batts says Ramirez’s motive remains under investigation
