ORLANDO, Fla.—The Powerball jackpot is expected to grow to an estimated $53 million for Saturday since no one matched all six of the numbers in the midweek drawing, the Multi-State Lottery Association said.
The winning numbers on Wednesday were 15, 22, 30, 37 and 48. The Powerball was 12 and the Power Play number was 2.
Tickets matching all five numbers and the Powerball would have won or shared the $42.5 million jackpot.
Two tickets sold in New Hampshire and Pennsylvania matched the first five numbers only to win $200,000 each. Colorado’s top prize was $10,000 apiece for three tickets that matched the Powerball plus four of the other numbers, Colorado Lottery officials said.
Powerball was created in 1992 and launched in Colorado in 2001.
The game is now played in 30 states, the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
