Liberty Media Corp. filed to register 486.2 million shares of Liberty Entertainment, the unit that owns a stake in DirecTV Group Inc.
The registration includes Class A and Class B shares, according to a regulatory filing Friday. Liberty Media said in December that it planned the tax-free spinoff as a way to reduce the discount in Liberty Entertainment tracking stock.
