Arapahoe County authorities are looking for a pajama-wearing burglar who has slithered away after robbing the same Centennial pet store three times in two months.
His loot: big snakes and, in one case, a gecko, according to the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office.
Assuming it’s the same burglar, the thief hit the PetSmart store at 8222 S. South University Blvd. on Feb. 27, taking five snakes — a California king snake, two ball pythons, a corn snake and an albino corn snake, according to investigators.
The store was hit again on March 15, when a gecko and a corn snake were taken, and again on April 20, when the burglar pinched a sand boa constrictor and two ball pythons.
The burglar or burglars typically get in the store after hours by smashing out the front glass, investigators said.
Caught on a surveillance camera, the burglar wielded a baseball bat to get in and wore pajama bottoms, a sweatshirt, a black knit cap and white latex gloves.
He was white, about 6 feet tall and 185 pounds.
