LINCOLN, Neb.—Tyler Farst’s third homer of the year highlighted a six-run sixth-inning and Nebraska went on to beat New Mexico 9-5 on Wednesday.
The Cornhuskers’ big inning came on seven hits and an error and erased a 4-1 deficit.
Cody Neer went 4 for 4, with a double and an RBI, and Casey Hauptman (4-5) gave up one run in three innings of relief of starter Michael Mariot.
Rafael Neda hit his sixth homer of the season and Brian Cavazos-Galvez his eighth to lead New Mexico. Gabe Aguilar (2-1), who allowed two runs on two hits in 2-3 of an inning, took the loss.
The Huskers (21-23-1) open a three-game Big 12 series against Missouri in Lincoln on Friday. The Lobos (31-14) return home for a three-game Mountain West series against UNLV.
