GOLDEN, Colo.—Authorities say a man suspected of threatening pharmacists and stealing painkillers at a Jefferson County drugstore may be responsible for other similar robberies in the Denver metro area.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s office said Tuesday the man handed pharmacists a note claiming to have a gun and demanding all their oxycodone.
Sheriff’s spokesman Jim Shires says the pharmacists gave the man the medication and he fled, telling them not to call police for several minutes.
That robbery happened April 17, but Shires says investigators believe the same man was involved in at least 10 other drug store robberies outside the county since October.
