DURANGO — A man armed with a hypodermic needle held up the Pine River Valley Bank in Durango on Thursday afternoon, police said.

The short, slight man in his early 20s was wearing thick, black-framed sunglasses when he passed a note to a teller about 1:30 p.m. He revealed the needle in his other hand, according to police.

He took an undisclosed amount of cash in a dark-colored bank bag and walked away from the bank, at 1701 Main St.

The robber was about 5 feet, 6 inches tall and weighs about 120 pounds. Anyone with information can call 970-375-4730 or CrimeStoppers at 970-247-1112.
