Former Colorado House Speaker Andrew Romanoff was honored Thursday for putting House sessions on television.

Romanoff, a Denver Democrat, was given the Sue O’Brien Award for Public Service by the Colorado Freedom of Information Council.

The award is named for the late Sue O’Brien, who worked as a radio broadcaster, editorial page editor of The Denver Post and press secretary to former Colorado Gov. Roy Romer.
