TIME
Boundary-setting for busy professionals.
In her book “Time Management in an Instant,” author Karen Leland offers these tips for a more balanced work and home life:
Build in “me time.” At least once a week, allow for time when nothing is planned and nothing needs to be accomplished — either personal or professional.
Stick to “off work zones.” Determine what days or times of day are off limits for working. That includes e-mail, voice mail, cellphone calls or text messages. Schedule meal breaks, days off and clearly defined work hours.
Cook for the week. Carve out a chunk of time to prepare at least five major meals for the coming week.
Schedule TV-time. To avoid zoning out in front of the television, choose three or four shows a week and schedule them on your calendar.
