Fido as freight? Not on Pet Airways, where darling doggies and cuddly cats fly in style.

Starting July 14, the Delray Beach, Fla.-based startup will fly pets to cities in specially designed carriers in the main cabin of a Beech 1900 aircraft.

Precious pet cargo will fly in and out of the Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport in Jefferson County on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Other metro areas served are New York, Los Angeles, Washington/Baltimore and Chicago. The “introductory” ticket price is $149 each way.

“We are the first-ever pet-only airline,” said co-owner Alysa Binder. “There are no humans except a pet attendant on board at all times.”

(I’m guessing the pilot is human too.)

Binder, who along with her Pet Airways partner Dan Wiesel is a startup consultant and recruiter for the high-tech industry, was inspired to create the pets airline because her own Jack Russell terrier was too big to travel under a seat in the cabin.

“A lot of pet owners and pet lovers say they want their pet to fly in a safe and comfortable way,” Binder said. “If you can put your pet in the cabin with you, go right ahead. We support that. But when they’re in the plane in cargo hold, they’re not with you.”

Footloose.

Lobbyist Lacee Artist made it through the intense legislative session almost intact. The lovely Lacee, who works with her lobbying pop, Bill Artist, has been sentenced to flats ever since she fell off her 3-inch high-heeled boots while walking her dog.

She told Post political pro Lynn Bartels, “I was running from all the bad business bills this session and sprained my foot in three places.”

Inductees.

Two catering kings and one restaurant consultant are this year’s inductees into the Colorado Restaurant Hall of Fame. They are Jimmy Lambatos, Footers Catering and Baur’s Ristorante; Larry DiPasquale, Epicurean Catering; and Tom Wilscam, the Cromwell Corp.

The trio will be inducted during an awards ceremony Monday evening in the Korbel Ballroom at the Colorado Convention Center.

Eavesdropping.

A woman pointing to the flowers on her hat before taking the runway for the Parade of Hats during the Women With Hattitude luncheon in the Seawell Ballroom: “These are real;” (and then pointing lower), “these are not.”
