BOULDER — The suspect in Johanna Justin-Jinich’s slaying had been living in a quiet Boulder neighborhood, apparently renting a basement apartment from a single mom who lived at the residence.
When Stephen P. Morgan, 29, was stopped and released Wednesday after Justin-Jinich of Timnath was gunned down in Connecticut, he gave a Boulder address.
Morgan’s father told authorities that his son told him Tuesday that he had decided to move to Newport, R.I. The arrest affidavit uses his parents’ address.
On Friday, neighbors did not recognize the photo of Morgan that appeared on Page 17A of Friday’s Denver Post. None recalled talking to him.
However, since that photo, Morgan has grown a beard, let his hair grow out and has gained weight.
Both the Boulder Police Department and the Sheriff’s Office said Friday they have not executed any searches in connection with the case.
