The online database GoodGuide now includes a food section, which rates foods based on nutrition, environmental impact and whether the company has any “community-related controversies.” The addictive website and its accompanying iPhone application have helped shoppers choose safe, green toys, household products and personal care items since last fall. GoodGuide assigns a score from zero to 10. Users can also filter their search results to show, for example, only products that are organic, vegan or low-sugar. The Washington Post
