Cal-Davis’ men’s and women’s cycling teams used final-day victories in the team time trial races to vault ahead for an omnium championship at the USA Cycling Collegiate Road Nationals on Sunday in Fort Collins.
The Cal-Davis men recorded a time of 35 minutes, 17.41 seconds to win the Division I team time trial, edging second-place Colorado State (36:42.98). Colorado was third at 36:45.97.
In the women’s Division I time trial, Cal-Davis won with a time of 41:30.20, ahead of second-place Stanford (42:50.7) and third-place CU (42:56.3).
In the Division I overall omnium standings, Cal-Davis finished ahead of second-place Lees-McRae. CSU was third, and Fort Lewis was fifth. In Division II, Whitman, from Walla Walla, Wash., won the title, and Mesa State was fifth.
