DENVER—The Denver Post owner ap says it plans to charge readers for some of its online content and deliver some services in bundles.
MediaNews President Jody Lodovic says the idea is to place value on newspaper content and change the perception that it’s free. Lodovic didn’t have the specifics on how much readers would be charged or when the practice would begin.
The move would mean readers would have to pay for full access to certain articles that appear in the print edition of The Denver Post. Abbreviated versions of stories would still be available for free and print subscribers would still have full access to articles.
The bundling of content would include giving subscribers versions of articles for e-reading devices like Amazon’s Kindle.
