He had the badge, the gun and the flashlight, but it wasn’t enough to convince a couple that Bolin Oconhe allegedly detained in a Westminster park Monday night that he was really a cop.

The couple said the 18-year-old parked his 2004 gold Honda Civic — tricked out with flashing red and blue lights — behind them about 10:40 p.m. Monday night.

Three other young men drove up and waited near Ocon’s compact car as he checked the couple’s identification then told them to leave, according to Westminster police.

He returned twice more and once pretended to chase after a “suspect” he said he saw running away. The couple left and called Westminster police, who found Ocon still in the area.

He is a suspect in other police impersonation cases, police said.

Westminster Police are asking anyone who may have had contact with Ocon posing as a police officer or federal agent to call Investigator Trevor Materasso at 303-658-4427.

Ocon is five feet, eight inches tall, with short brown hair and hazel eyes.
