Baseball commissioner Bud Selig has a message for graduates at the University of Wisconsin: Dream big and don’t fear failure. In his commencement address Saturday in Madison, Selig urged the graduates to be resolute during these difficult economic times. Selig, a 1956 Wisconsin graduate, said he views baseball as a metaphor for life. “In baseball, as in life . . . hope and faith are critical to success, so take advantage of these difficult times, if you are smart and tenacious and dedicated and willing to sacrifice, you can make a difference and make this a better world. And don’t be afraid of failure.” The Associated Press; Associated Press photo
