LoDo visitors witnessed some high drama this afternoon when an apparently intoxicated man climbed to the top of a giant crane at 18th and Larimer streets and threatened to jump off.
Denver police and fire squads blocked off traffic for about an hour, and a rescue team successfully brought the man down unhurt. He was carried away in a stretcher about 5:45 p.m. The crane was above a 13-story building under construction at the intersection.
