LOS ANGELES — A moderate earthquake shook the Los Angeles area Sunday night. There were no immediate reports of major injuries or damage.
A preliminary report by the U.S. Geological Survey said a magnitude-5.0 quake hit at 8:39 p.m. local time, about 10 miles southwest of downtown Los Angeles, near Inglewood.
The quake jiggled the region and was felt as far south as Long Beach.
