GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.—The body of a Delta man who drowned after his canoe capsized at Crawford State Park reservoir has been recovered.
Delta County Undersheriff Mark Taylor says the body of 21-year-old Tyler Korthuis was found at about noon Sunday. Taylor says a team of recovery experts hired by Korthuis’ family found the body in 55 to 65 feet of water.
An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday.
Authorities have said Korthuis was on the reservoir with 22-year-old Stacy Bjerk when their canoe tipped over in strong winds April 15.
Bjerk was able to swim to shore and contacted other boaters for help.
