CANON CITY, Colo.—The warden of Canon Minimum Centers has been placed on administrative leave.

Colorado Department of Corrections spokeswoman Katherine Sanguinetti says Ron Leyba has been on leave since late April. She declined to comment on the reason for the move, saying it was a personnel matter.

Canon Minimum Centers consist of four facilities in the department’s East Canon Complex—the Pre-Release Center and the Arrowhead, Four Mile and Skyline correctional facilities.

Steve Hartley, warden of the Fremont Correctional Facility, has taken over as acting warden of Canon Minimum Centers.

Leyba has been with the Corrections Department for 21 years.
