Twenty bodybuilders at last weekend’s Belgian championships decided instead to play hide-and-seek.
As in, they hid by leaving when doping officials unexpectedly showed up seeking them for drug testing before they flexed any pecs or struck a pose.
After numerous positive doping tests in recent years in Belgium, the event had been moved across the Dutch border to Vlissingen.
“They must have felt safe out there,” doping official Hans Cooman told The Associated Press on Monday.
