COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—Colorado Springs police have identified a suspect who was shot and killed in a confrontation with an officer as a 29-year-old man from Colorado Springs.

Police say the officer interrupted an apparent burglary inside a home Sunday morning and fired one shot when one of two suspects produced a handgun.

Authorities on Monday said Paul Kovacevic was found dead from an apparent gunshot wound. They say 29-year-old Adam Cecil, also of Colorado Springs, was arrested after he was shot with a Taser.

Police say they found a handgun with Kovacevic’s body and believe it was the one the officer saw during the confrontation. They say the gun didn’t belong to the homeowners.

Cecil was arrested on suspicion of burglary.
