The St. Vrain Valley school board and its teachers union are at an impasse over a new contract, as the district offered a 9.1 percent raise in pay and benefits but employees countered with a bid for 14.57 percent Thursday evening.
The St. Vrain Valley Education Association rejected the district’s offer Thursday. A mediator is expected to preside over future negotiations.
The board’s offer would cost about $6.2 million for increases in base pay and step raises, as well as greater contributions to medical and dental insurance.
The association’s counterproposal would cost more than $9.9 million, according to the district.
