GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.—An active duty Marine has been arrested at Buckley Air Force Base outside Denver on suspicion of sexually assaulting a girl “under 14.”
Authorities arrested 23-year-old Jonathan Douglas Roy of Lochbuie, Colo., Thursday at the base in suburban Aurora. An arrest warrant accuses Roy of one count of sexual assault on a child as part of a pattern of abuse.
Mesa County sheriff’s officials say Roy, who is married, developed a sexual relationship with a teenage girl he met last September at the Grand Junction Air Show. The warrant says the girl’s mother told investigators that the girl admitted meeting up with Roy in hotel rooms and that the two of them had been having sex.
Roy is with the Marine Corp Reserve Unit based at Buckley.
