Brendan Mundorf had five goals and an assist to lead the Denver Outlaws (1-1) to a 15-14 Major League Lacrosse victory over the host Boston Cannons (0-2) at Harvard Stadium on Friday night.

Mundorf had four of his goals in the second half, including two in a five-minute span in the third quarter after Boston had closed to within 10-8. Greg Downing also scored during that span, and the Outlaws had a 13-8 lead. The Cannons scored the next three goals, but Mundorf and Downing scored fourth-quarter goals to keep Boston at bay.

Downing had four goals, and Matt Brown had a hat trick — scoring Denver’s first three goals.

Outlaws goaltender Jesse Schwartzman stopped 18-of-31 shots, allowing one two-point goal.
