Getting your player ready...

Oh no, they didn’t.

Nuggets superstar Carmelo Anthony’s fiancee, LaLa Vazquez, was verbally assaulted during the May 11 playoff game by some rude Dallas Mavericks fans who couldn’t keep their trashy traps shut.

According to , Vazquez attended the game with her and Anthony’s 2-year-old son, Kiyan, and his babysitter. Apparently a group of Mavs fans behind her — who she says were drinking heavily — began to get rowdy and rude, which escalated the more they drank.

“You know how big those beers are at games!” she told Momlogic. But the taunts reportedly turned into racial slurs and insults to her son.

Vazquez told Momlogic she was shocked. “I’ve been at a ton of games,” she said, “but I have never heard fans say things like that.”

Vazquez is the host of VH1’s “Charm School 3.”

Dr. Webb, I presume.

Sure, former Denver Mayor Wellington Webb has received honorary doctorates from the University of Colorado, Metro State and the American Baptist Seminary College in Oakland, Calif., but his most recent accolade meant the most.

Both Webb and his wife, Wilma, were given honorary doctorates of humane letters at the University of Northern Colorado, the former hizzoner’s alma mater.

“For me, since that’s where I received both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees, I’m very pleased to receive (the doctorate),” Wellington said. Even more pleasing, he said, was that his daughter, Stephanie O’Malley, was UNC’s graduation keynote speaker.

The former mayor founded Webb Group International, which does economic-development projects, public relations and consulting.

Prime time.

Primebar, the new eclectic eatery in the old Palomino space at 16th Street Mall and Arapahoe Street, opened Friday as the first in what the owners hope will be a series.

The space is massive — more than 300 seats — with more high-top tables than booths to give the space a clubby, hang-out feel. Tons o’ flat- panel TVs are suspended above the rectangular bar.

A gal pal and I sampled the menu Thursday, and found way more hits than misses. Recommended: the flatbread with house-made chorizo and uncured olives, and the Thai beef salad. Open for lunch and dinner daily.

Brown on board

. Former U.S. senator and CU president Hank Brown has been elected chairman of the board for the Daniels Fund, succeeding Daniel Ritchie, who finished a two-year term.

The Daniels Fund announced $3.8 million in grants to organizations that serve youth and senior citizens during its quarterly board meeting last week.

Brown, senior counsel at Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck, served as president and CEO of the Daniels Fund prior to his CU stint.

The seen.

“Seinfeld” actor John O’Hurley, on tour with “Spamalot,” and other members of the troupe at a wrap party for the play’s Denver stop at Elway’s in The Ritz- Carlton last week.

Going to the game?

And don’t even ask, “What game?” Don’t forget about your ol’ buddy and pal — me! E-mail, text or call me at the number below or 303-619-5209 with sightings of local notables and national celebs at Monday’s b-ball battle.

Eavesdropping

on a boss to an employee: “If you keep up the good work, I will give you a 10-cent-an-hour raise.”
