GREEN RIVER, Wyo.—The Army Corps of Engineers will hold a second public meeting in southwest Wyoming on a proposed transbasin water diversion project.
The meeting has been scheduled for June 9 in Rock Springs.
Colorado entrepreneur Aaron Million is proposing to divert water from the Flaming Gorge Reservoir to the Colorado Front Range around Denver.
Previous meetings on the $3 billion proposal were held in April in Green River and Laramie. Many of the residents attending the Green River meeting criticized the Army Corps for only scheduling one meeting in southwest Wyoming.
Agency officials said earlier this month they were also extending the written public comment period for an environmental impact statement through July 27.
The environmental study is expected to take at least three years.
