DENVER—In an April 24 story about a new murder trial ordered for Tim Kennedy, The Associated Press erroneously described an earlier criminal case involving Rebecca Corkins, who was subpoenaed to testify as part of Kennedy’s request for a new trial. Corkins served a prison sentence for charges stemming from a kidnapping and sexual assault case involving Jennifer Carpenter, not for Carpenter’s 1991 slaying. The story incorrectly attributed the information to Department of Corrections records.
