Boulder police are investigating a possible hate crime against a gay couple.
The couple told police they were “confronted” by a man who started shouting “anti-gay, derogatory names at them” at about 2:30 a.m. Sunday in the parking lot of New West Inn, 970 28th Frontage Road, police said in a media release.
The man also slammed the couple’s car door shut, grabbed a cellphone from one victim and threw it to the ground. One of the victims phoned police, and responding officers questioned two men near the scene.
Police have not made an arrest, and the investigation is ongoing.
