Russian officials have taken a 5-year-old Siberian girl into care, saying that she had apparently been “brought up” by cats and dogs.
The girl, who is unable to speak, was discovered living in a squalid flat in the Siberian city of Chita, the British Broadcasting Corp. reports.
Police said she had never been allowed outside and had adopted the behavior of the animals she lived with. They said she now “barked like a little dog” and jumped at the door when her caretakers left the room.

A New York toddler still in diapers has a growing reputation as a pool shark with a mean bank shot — even though he has to stand on a chair to reach the table.
Two-year-old Keith O’Dell Jr. of upstate New York has pool-shooting videos posted on YouTube, has his own website (poolprodigy.com) and is the youngest member of the American Pool Association.
O’Dell started playing pool on a child-size table, but has since moved up to a regulation table. His parents say his learning hasn’t been limited to billiard games. Pool is also teaching him colors and how to count.
