DENVER—A security guard is dead and another is hospitalized after an overnight shooting outside a Denver nightclub.
Police say several people were fighting shortly before 1 a.m. Friday inside and outside El Chaparral on West 6th Avenue near Interstate 25. Police say one security guard was arguing with two men, one of whom shot the guard. He was pronounced dead at Denver Health Medical Center.
Denver police spokesman Sonny Jackson says the suspects fled in a car. He says that as the vehicle left, someone inside the car fired several shots, hitting a second security guard. He was listed in serious condition. Names weren’t released.
Jackson says authorities are looking for a dark-colored sedan with broken windows.
