GREELEY, Colo.—Prosecutors have filed two misdemeanor counts against a Firestone man after a 100-pound dog attacked a woman, mangling her face.

Weld County prosecutors said Friday that 41-year-old David Riley faces charges of owning a dangerous dog and obstructing a police officer.

Authorities say Riley’s dog attacked 54-year-old Myrna Lee on Saturday in Riley’s yard. Police say her face and head were mangled and bloody. She was taken to a Loveland hospital in fair condition.

No phone listing could be found for Riley, and it wasn’t immediately known if he had an attorney. He was jailed in lieu of $15,000 bond.

Police and court records say the dog has attacked at least two other people.

Riley’s next court appearance is scheduled for June 10.
