PHOENIX — The Arizona Diamondbacks have promoted lefty Daniel Schlereth, their first pick in last year’s draft.
The 23-year-old Schlereth, a former Highlands Ranch standout and the son of former Broncos lineman Mark Schlereth, had three saves and a 1.42 ERA at Double-A Mobile.
The product of the University of Arizona struck out 21 in 19 innings this season.
Arizona optioned left-hander Doug Slaten to Triple-A Reno.
