Golden-based Boston Market Corp. announced the hiring of F. Lane Cardwell as its new chief executive on Friday.

Cardwell replaces Rick Arrras, who has resigned to pursue other interests.

“Lane is a highly accomplished professional with an impressive track record of moving the needle forward for growing restaurant businesses,” said Chris Metz, a Managing Director at Sun Capital Partners, which owns Boston Market. “His consummate experience and knowledge of the industry will be of great benefit to Boston Market”

Cardwell is a 30-year veteran in the restaurant business. He worked between 1979 and 1999 with Brinker International and S&A Restaurant Corp. He also has served on the corporate boards for P.F. Chang’s China Bistro, Famous Dave’s of America and Taco Bueno.

He is considered an industry expert on home meal replacement and is expected to take Boston Market’s concept to the next level, according to the company.

“I am enthusiastic about joining Boston Market and believe the company has strong potential to expand its market position in the fast-casual category by offering our customers an even better experience,” Cardwell said.
