A 20-year-old man who skipped bail after learning that charges against him were amended to first-degree murder was taken into custody last night in Longmont.
Jeremiah Christopher Bryant, who was wanted by authorities in Larimer County, was picked up at about 8:30 p.m. by the U.S. Marshals Service and the Longmont Police Department at a home on Dexter Drive in Longmont, Fort Collins police said in a media release.
Bryant, who had been free on bond since March, is a suspect in the Jan. 12 fatal shooting of Clinton Hiney near Colorado State University.
He failed to appear for a May 7 court date after learning that the charges against him were to be modified.
Hiney, 30, was shot when Bryant and a second suspect, Joshua Douglas Renn, 21, entered an apartment in search of methamphetamine and money, according to police. Two others in the apartment were wounded.
Renn remains in Larimer County jail, where he is being held without bail.
