MONTROSE — A Montrose woman accused of running down her husband with a car after an argument has denied it was intentional.

Thirty-two-year-old Sharon Gibson was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of second-degree assault, domestic violence and reckless driving.

She also faces a child-abuse charge because her two children were with her.

Police said Gibson made a sharp turn across three lanes of traffic and drove directly toward her husband, Matt, while he was on a sidewalk. He suffered bruises, cuts and scrapes.

Sharon Gibson told a judge Thursday her children spotted their father and she turned sharply so they could speak to him. Her husband said he doesn’t believe Gibson hit him deliberately.
