DENVER—Police say a man injured in an Aurora apartment fire that was later ruled arson has died from his injuries and that attempted homicide charges against the suspects will be upgraded.

Aurora police say the victim died at a hospital Sunday. His name has not been released.

The blaze broke out in an eight-unit apartment building early Thursday, injuring three people and forcing more than a dozen from their homes.

Officers arrested 21-year-old Coy Thomas Marty Dunn and 34-year-old Douglas Taylor Jr. late Friday in Commerce City. Police did not say what led them to Dunn and Taylor.

The two also face charges of first-degree arson. Authorities say Taylor and Dunn used an accelerant to help spread the fire.

Police have not announced a possible motive.
