BOULDER, Colo.—A Boulder teacher’s union tentatively agreed to the districts’ proposed labor agreement despite saying they are still unhappy it doesn’t include a permanent cost-of-living pay increase.
The two sides signed the tentative agreement so teachers can vote on it in August but union Vice President Tina Mueh says they still don’t like what they’re being offered.
The Boulder Valley School District officials say they can’t afford what the union is asking for. The district offered a 1-percent pay raise for one year only.
What the union tentatively signed on for is the same proposal that upset teachers so much they picketed district schools or failed to show up for classes last month.
