Dish Network Corp. said it can continue providing digital-video-recording services to customers while it appeals an order won by TiVo Inc. in a patent battle.
The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit on Wednesday issued a temporary stay of a federal judge’s order that Dish stop using a DVR service that infringes a patent.
U.S. Judge David Folsom on Tuesday ordered Dish Network and EchoStar Corp. to pay $192.7 million for infringing TiVo’s video-recorder patents and to quit selling the service to customers.
