BOULDER, Colo.—A Boulder County man convicted of criminally negligent child abuse in the death of his infant son faces an additional 1 1/2 years in prison for an alleged bond violation.
Twenty-nine-year-old Alex Midyette is due in court Friday, when he’s scheduled to enter a plea in the bond case. Midyette had been free on $1.5 million bond after his February conviction in the 2006 death of his 11-week-old son, Jason. Midyette was re-arrested for allegedly violating terms of his release by having contact with children.
Midyette was sentenced last month to 16 years in prison and is eligible for parole in 2017. Jason’s mother, Molly Midyette, was convicted in a separate trial and is serving a 16 year sentence. She will be eligible for parole in 2015.
