Gov. Bill Ritter won kudos from one part of the labor sector Wednesday after being dogged by a grocery- workers union over a bill veto in recent weeks.
A letter signed by heads of the AFL-CIO and the Denver Area Labor Federation lauded Ritter for signing two key pieces of legislation.
House Bill 1310 will keep employers from inappropriately claiming workers are subcontractors and thereby avoiding paying benefits.
