SWAT officers have surrounded a house in Centennial this afternoon and local schools are keeping neighborhood children at their schools to keep them away from the scene, officials and witnesses said.
An Arapahoe County Sheriff’s spokesman who could could comment on the details was not immediately available to explain the operation.
Timberline Elementary School, Thunder Ridge Middle School and Eaglecrest High School were notified at about 1 p.m. that an incident possibly involving shots fired had taken place several blocks from Timberline, said Cherry Creek School District spokeswoman Tustin Amole.
Other children were released after school as usual, she said.
