A man who died from injuries suffered in an apartment fire officials say was caused by arson has been identified as Jose De Jesus Martinez, 52.

He died Sunday morning at a local hospital after being injured in a May 28 blaze at 2301 Emporia St., according to an Aurora Police Department media release.

Two suspects, Douglas Taylor Jr., 34, and Coy Thomas Marty Dunn, 21, have been arrested and face multiple charges, including first-degree murder.

Two other fire victims were taken to a hospital, treated for their injuries and released.

The fire forced at least 17 people from their homes.

Investigators believe the intended targets of the alleged arsonists escaped unharmed and that Martinez and the two injured victims had nothing to do with the motive.

Police did not disclosed further details on the motive.
