COLORADO SPRINGS — This will be a real Rocky Mountain high.
Actor Kevin Bacon’s band is set to play a concert on top of 14,110-foot Pikes Peak as part of a cancer-charity fundraiser.
The Bacon Brothers, Cy Curnin of The Fixx and The White Buffalo will perform June 27 for about 100 people hiking to the summit to raise money for the Love Hope Strength Foundation.
The foundation says Curnin plans to play at the base in the morning and join hikers on the climb. The Bacon Brothers expect to perform at the top about 1 p.m. for those who reach the summit.
The foundation previously has held concerts at Machu Picchu in Peru and Mount Everest to raise funds for cancer treatment and to raise awareness about bone-marrow donation.
