A 30-year-old Aurora man has been indicted for conspiring with his girlfriend to launder and spend more than $700,000 embezzled from the Great-West Life & Annuity Insurance Co.

Indicted was David J. Hillman, who allegedly was in cahoots with his then-girlfriend, Hillary Shaffer, the senior account-reconciliation specialist at Great-West Life & Annuity. The embezzlement allegedly occurred between September 2001 and August 2005.
